"Closer to 1900 on the money"

Excellent non-technical presentation of a great piece of Americana. Brian Shul's masterful writing puts you right in the cockpit with him and his RSO Walter Watkins. Having worked for the Agency back in the early 70s, I had the opportunity to view SR photography as a collateral backup to high altitude KH satellite photography on several occasions. To see the Blackbird being retired is like seeing you favorite pet pass away. Hey! It's going to be a long time before anything matches the famous "ground speed check" from Aspen 20 to LA control.

Very fast read for a very fast plane!

If you've ever had an interest in the SR-71, this is an excellent book. It allows the reader to get inside a real SR=-71 pilot and his copilot's head. The plane becomes an emotional experience for the team that flew it. It is an enjoyable read and the photographs are one-of-kind that the average person would never be able to take.

Good source of knowledge about hot BPM architecture topics.

I was very excited buying the book; I must say it has satisfied my expectations.
It is a good source of knowledge about practical approach to BPM architecture.
Especially I like the chapters describing the enterprise BPM.
However there are some issues that make book not a perfect one.
Some chapters are written without proper text review. Looks like authors do not have enough time to finish them. The illustrations/diagrams might be better design and more carefully named.
Instead of describing BPMN basics I would prefer to read about the modelling used by authors for their BPM projects.
I cannot find connections to Oracle Reference Architecture [ORA] for BPM. I think the authors should to rather extend ORA then re-invent something by their own.

I am waiting for second revised edition.
I should contain the Oracle new approach to cloud especially PCS and ICS.

User-freindly guide to the complexities of MRI

This 300 page paper back has 400 high quality and relevant illustrations (mainly diagrams and line drawings) that greatly help to illustrate some otherwise difficult-to-grasp concepts. The emphasis is on the how and why of magnetic resonance imaging, not on the interpretation of the images.
The authors have successfully negotiated the narrow difference between a book that is filled with mind numbing details and one which is over simplified with a trivial approach. While not getting bogged down in minutia that are endlessly fascinating to physicists, but demoralizing to many physicians, they haven't avoided the concepts which form the basis of MRI such as, K-space, Fourier transform and pulse sequences. Nor have newer scanning techniques that involve tissue suppression and MRA been slighted.
At the end of each chapter a succinct "Key Points" section emphasizes the most relevant features of the preceeding chapter. Also included at the end of each chapter is a self-assessment quiz (with answers at the end of the book).
This book is excellent for MR technologists, radiology residents in board preparation and non-radiolgist physicians who want to get up-to-speed in this exciting and rapidly growing subdiscipline of diagnostic imaging.
If this book were a movie, I would give it an enthusiastic, "Two Thumbs Up."

Kindle edition flawed

I bought the Kindle edition of this text for a class and have quickly discovered some flaws in this edition. They are easily seen in the sample of chapter 1. Figures 1-2 through 1-4 are supposed to be graphs showing sin(x), cos(x), and sin(x) and cox(x) on the same plot, but they all show sin(x) in the Kindle edition. From the sample of the print edition, it appears to be correct. It just makes me wonder what other errors the Kindle edition contains if something that simple is wrong.

Great intro to the math needed to have a proper "vocabulary" to understand MR physics. While most readers have had the math in college, most have also forgotten much of it.
Enjoyed the approach throughout the book.
Strongly recommend.

Good book just not what I needed

It's probably not the author's fault but this book did not adequately prepare me for the IBHRE CEPS exam. The questions on the exam were posed in a manner different than what this book prepares you for and it included content not covered by the book.

A life changer (if you let it change it)

This book had such influence in my life that I fell compelled to contact the author privately.The author will embark with you in a journey from your childhood to the present day. This journey is not intended to be filled with nostalgia and good vibes though, it will be vivid and - possibly - cruel as it was back then, but in the end you will understand how necessary it was to relive all of those memories. This book IS NOT the usual self-help book with tricks and things to say to yourself. Sure, it has some tips on how to get rid of some of the mental traps you're in, but the main purpose of this book is to understand deeply why you are feeling this way. Having this knowledge, you're already in the way to relief. "It's your birthright to be happy", it was only when I first read this in this book that I realized that deep inside of me I didn't feel I was worthwhile of any happiness at all. This book is now a must have for me. I have to re-read from time to time, to get me in the right track. I couldn't thank you enough, Terry. One of those books that make you notice they mean a lot to the author.

I'm definitely biased as Katie was one of my closest friends and was to be my maid of honor five months before she passed. Unfortunately she wasn't able to travel and didn't make it in physical form but I know she was there in Spirit. I love that Marilyn wrote this book as I believe it gives many of us more closure. I know that I didn't have each piece of her illness together. We don't have the answers and Katie's passing was a tragedy in our lives but our lives are definitely better because of her. I miss her to this day as I could share anything without judgement as she could as well.

I know the author slightly, and knew she had lost a daughter. But she always has such a beautiful, peaceful smile. I was eager to discover why. This is the story of her beautiful daughter, her tragic loss, and a mother making the choice, in the midst of her heartbreak, to trust in the comfort and promises of the Lord Jesus Christ.
