Great, modern teaching tool.

My first look through this book and I can tell you that I will use it for my next course on Stage Management. It even talks about formatting documents on the computer. The content is extremely relevant and up to date, which is difficult to find in a stage management book. So far so good.

Great book, very informative.

This is a great book for the beginning stage manager. I purchased it for a class and found it to be very helpful and insightful. It had some pretty useful templates to build paperwork off of, and had great information on the duties and expectations of the stage manager throughout the preproduction period, rehearsals, and performances. Some of the pictures and visuals seem outdated, but other than that, it is a great resource.

VERY SMALL BOOK, SMALL FAINT PRINT. BUMMER.

I guess the information in this book is good but the print is very light and very small. I wear contact lenses to bring my vision to normal and I still am having trouble reading it. I probably will end up returning it for this very reason. It's a SMALL book! 7 1/2" by 9 1/4". Bummer because I had it overnighted to me.

you can use your Java and Ajax expertise

ZK is a quite specialised development framework that assists with the making of web pages. It emphasises the use of XHTML pages, instead of plain HTML. ZK also lets you write logic in Java, instead of JavaScript. For programmers who use both languages, this should be seen as a plus. Incredible framework, dated book

The ZK Framework is a very impressive framework that allows server side developers to deliver highly interactive and impactful user interfaces. In the beginning of 2010 ZK 5 was released which added a ton of new functionality and streamlined the developer's workflow.

This book was a major disappointment, but I believe I should of expected as much. It is over a couple years old and obviously doesn't address the enhancements that were just released. I rate this book a tad lower solely on the fact that the index is horrible. I'm not sure how you can have a 2.5 page index on such an elaborate framework.

I suggest keeping an eye out for a new edition or another ZK book focused on ZK 5.

About the Author
Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, S.V.D., was born in 1913 at Tarentum, Pennsylvania. Born to Slovak parents, he was the oldest of eight children, and became a student of the Sacred Heart Mission Seminary at the age of twelve. In 1938, he was ordained a priest and subsequently began missionary work in the coal and steel regions of the United States. He was drawn to writing as a result of his desire to represent Christ among the people he served as a missionary. I really like it. Gives examples of scenarios which would be a mortal sin vs venial sin when it comes to dating. It covers, how far is too far? Holding hands, slow dancing, hugging and embracing someone too long. Laying together on the couch together watching a movie, spending time alone talking in a parked car. Laughing at a dirty joke etc. Are these sins mortal or venial? This book sheds lots of light on the subject.

great pediatrics book

I thought this was one of the most complete pediatrics books out there. I had my pediatrics rotation before internal medicine, so I wanted a book that had complete information, especially about critical care management, etc. I used Blueprints and Case Files and thought this NMS book was the most helpful for the shelf. I used the new 2009 version.

The book is very indepth and takes time to read BUT I made a 99% on the Peds shelf exam using this book +case files. I did this for General surgery as well and made the same score

This covered minutae without perseverating on one topic for too long. There were little facts that I read that came up on exam questions or on wards that only I knew because others were reading First Aid. I was able to read through whatever chapters were being covered each week on the Peds clerkship without it being overwhelming and I made it through the entire book. I read the parts I highlighted a couple days before Step 2 and I was set.

What a great romance

I could not put this book down. Great romance, sexy characters, and the beautiful scenery of Scotland. What more could a reader ask for? It was near perfect for me. The only downside was that it had to end. After I read this book I bought and read the first book in this series In Bed With a Stranger. Loved it! You don't have to read it before reading this one, but I highly recommend that you do. Mary Wine is now on my list of "auto buy" authors like Kleypas, Quinn, and Kinsale.

Little depth to the romance...

I always enjoy finding new authors that are writing in a favorite setting. However, every so often I find a dud and this is it. It was like the author wasn't sure whether she wanted to write a medieval or a reformation period book. The use of historical references seemed to distract rather than enhance the story (we didn't need to know every time they sat in "x" chair)

As to the depth of the actual story, at most times it was a lot of long drawn out sex scenes (not all that interesting) with a bit of story to break them up. The conflict was superficial most of the time and the story would have been better if the conflict had more sexual tension, not just sex. The conflict seemed way too one-sided making it only an average romance.

Also confusing to this reader was all the secondary characters, they seemed to have little purpose taking away from the spaced needed to tell the heroine/hero's story. Clearly this is a second book in a series and there appears to be some foreshadowing for future stories but this foreshadowing shouldn't take over the story at hand. I was waiting for more story to send the reader on to the next book in the series and yet nothing.

If I didn't know better I would have thought this a first book, and though I know the author has nothing to do with the cover I have to wonder if the publisher even read the description of the heroine. Find it used, if you must read it.

Pretty quick read

This is the first book by Mary Wine that I've read. From the beginning I realized that In The Warrior's Bed was part of a series, but I don't think I'll be going back to read the first one. I liked both the hero and the heroine in the story because of their strong personalities. They have strong chemistry from their first meeting, so their ending up together wasn't unrealistic. I did have to remind myself a couple of times that this is a historical romance, and the rules of the society are a lot different from what we have now--disbelief suspended at various points. I am a sucker for a good Scottish romance, but Wine totally botches the dialogue here. Her attempt at authenticity with the accent left much to be desired. "Dinnae" and "ye" thrown throughout, "not" becoming "no" in one part of the sentence and then written as "not" in the same sentence a bit later was very jarring. In addition to the dialogue issues, the narrative of the story also vacillated between accented and unaccented. That doesn't even take into account various spelling issues ("shinny" instead of "shiny"). Overall, I don't feel like I've wasted a couple of hours by reading this book; however, I don't think it was good enough for me to get the next one in the series.

About the Author
Jane Talbot was born in Wiltshire, England, and has lived in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, since 2011. Sure to be a classic, "The Faerie Thorn and other stories" was a delight to read! I couldn't put it down! These beautiful and haunting tales pulled me out of my every day life into a magical world in which I longed to stay. The author, Jane Talbot, skillfully and poetically draws you into ancient stories of love and fear, injustice and rightwise, human connection and division! While completely inthralled amazing and heartfelt lesson's sneak in the back door and push emotions to the surface! I'm already longing for book two!
